 Vacancies for one Parish Councillor

to serve on

Corby Glen Parish Council

 

There is currently one vacancy on the Council, and having been through the prescribed procedure, no election has been requested. The vacancy will, therefore, now be filled by the co-option process at the next parish council meeting on
November 8th 2023

 

Anyone wishing to be considered for the vacancy should apply in writing to the council at the address below, by no later than Friday October 27th 2023.

Section 79(1) of the Local Government Act 1972 provides that, unless disqualified, a person is qualified to be co-opted as a local councillor if they are over 18, a qualifying Commonwealth citizen or a Euronational on the day of their selection and :

a. on the relevant day is, and thereafter, continues to be a local government elector for the parish or community; or

b. has during the whole of the 12 months preceding that day occupied as owner or tenant any land or other premises in the parish or community; or

c. his/her principal or only place of work during those 12 months has been in the parish or community; or

d. has during the whole of those 12 months resided in the parish or community or within 3 miles of it.
