Neighbourhood Planning Minutes|

THURSDAY 29/9/2026 Church St Rooms Corby Glen 7.00pm

Attendees

John Ellam [JE], John Wakerley [JoW], Mark Hamblin [MH],  Neil Gregory [NG] and 3 members of the parish

  1. There was a question from the public about the use of the latest census information and it’s time relevance. The feeling that the village composition is changing very quickly and the census will be out of date. The information that will be incorporated into the updated Neighbourhood Plan will be from the 2021 census which was collated from information prior to the occupation of the new developments. This issue with the changes since 2021will have to be covered in the narrative as the next census is not to be conducted till 2031
  2. The new timetable published for the Local plan was discussed, the new dates are:

Notice of commencement: September 2026

Scope consultation: November to December 2026

Consultation on proposed plan content: January to February 2028

Submission for examination: February 2029

Planned adoption: August 2029.

  1. The issues around the Weston Marsh to East Leicestershire project phase 2 consultation were discussed. It was agreed that the Neighbourhood planning group has no further comment at this stage as the changes between the phase 1 and phase 2 consultations, affecting Corby Glen are very minor. Individual members are encouraged to submit personal comments if they have any issues.
  2. The new website entry was discussed, it was felt the new information was worthwhile and about the correct amount required. There was some concern that there could be confusion between the web entry for the existing Neighbourhood plan and the development of the revision, this will be cleared up by including separate links in the web menu.
  3. The common Microsoft OneDrive has duplications of development documents. This will be cleared up by using an archive directory and clearer file names.
  4. Cllr Hambling noted that Natural England Natural Character and profile No75 covers Cory Glen and its comments should be covered in the updated plan with a reference and link.
  5. Some additional info to be changed in the updated plan, eg an updated car census and its effect on the road system in Corby Glen. Additional houses have been built not only in Corby Glen but in Colsterworth and Bourne. The bio digester being developed at Great Gonerby will also increase the traffic on the A151.

The next meeting is on Thursday the 19 September 2026 at 7pm at the Willoughby Gallery.
