There are currently two vacancies on the Council. The vacancies will be filled by the co-option process at the next parish council meeting on Tuesday November 19th 2024.
Anyone wishing to be considered for one of the vacancies should apply in writing to the council at the address below, by no later than Monday November 18th 2024.
Section 79(1) of the Local Government Act 1972 provides that, unless disqualified, a person is qualified to be co-opted as a local councillor if they are over 18, a qualifying Commonwealth citizen or a Euronational on the day of their selection and:
a. on the relevant day is, and thereafter, continues to be a local government elector for the parish or community; or
b. has during the whole of the 12 months preceding that day occupied as owner or tenant any land or other premises in the parish or community; or
c. his/her principal or only place of work during those 12 months has been in the parish or community; or
d. has during the whole of those 12 months resided in the parish or community or within 3 miles of it.
