The Neighbourhood Plan Group have submitted comments to SKDC on planning application S24/2193 (change of use of land and buildings at former sawmill on the old station site). The application was evaluated against Policy CG17 (Local Businesses and Employment) in the Neighbourhood Plan. It was concluded that the application, in its present form, could not be supported.
It has been agreed that our group should monitor planning applications on a routine basis so that any comments we have can be fed into the discussions at the Parish Council.
Members of our group will be attending the Design Code workshop on Wednesday 2nd April. This is intended to obtain feedback on a draft of SKDC’s Design Code for future housing developments.
It is noted that the next stage of consultation on the Local plan has been moved back to the Summer 2025, presumably to enable changes to be made in the light of the government’s new housing targets.
