Do you have an interest in, or experience of supporting, or working within the education sector? Can you commit to a few hours a month supporting our well-loved local primary school? The governing board has a vacancy for an LA (Local Authority) Governor and is looking for a self-motivated individual, who cares passionately about the school. Previous experience as a governor is useful but not essential (training can be arranged).

The Board has three strategic core functions of which the successful candidate will play a role in maintaining:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
  • Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent. The Board has planned meetings 6 times per academic year; meetings are usually held at 5.30pm at the school. If you are interested in applying for the LA Governor role and require further information please contact the Clerk (Sharron Woodward) via the school office for details. office@bythams.lincs.sch.uk
